Email Your Press Release--Get FREE Publicity From BIG Media

The media thrives on press releases. Over half of the news you
read in business publications comes from press releases sent to
them by businesses and organizations.

Media is more competitive than ever. TV stations, radio,
newspapers, and networks have all had to scale back and tighten
budgets. This means they rely more than ever on the good stories
YOU send them. A newsworthy press release can pull in lots of
FREE media coverage for your business.

Make sure your story is something the media audience will be
interested in. Editors hate getting a release that is really an
ad disguised as a release. For press release format, check out

Send your release to media via email. Almost everyone in media
uses email. There are several very good email release services
that have long lists of media contacts. Xpresspress.com is
well-known and does a nice job. Keep in mind most release
services have the same media addresses.

You can get even lower rates from automatedpr.com where a minimum
order is just $50. We often use them when we need to send to a
very specialized list of media. If you send out lots of releases,
consider getting a list of media and sending them yourself.

Three Letter Autoresponder Follow-up

A woman told me this week, "Your advertising is wasted if
you don't follow-up on your leads." Her solution is to use a
multiple autoresponder that sends her prospects a new sales
message very few days.

People need to see your ad message several times before
they buy. Those who buy on the first ad have already made
up their mind after seeing someone else's ad. Yours had the
good fortune of reaching the customer at just the right time.

You can greatly increase sales with a three letter multiple
autoresponder. There are a number of places to get these
autoresponders free (fastfacts.net, getresponse.com,
smartbotpro.com) and others who sell up-graded service at
low cost.

Make your first letter briefly present your offer. It should
be designed to get attention and bring in those who tend to
quickly make up their minds to buy.

Your second sales letter should arrive the next day. Make it
longer and filled with details. About 70 percent of
consumers are folks who need ALL the details before they
will purchase. List your features and connect them with the
benefit your customer will get from those features.

Your third sales letter should be scheduled to arrive several
days later. Start with "Successful people are busy. I know
you probably saw my earlier messages, considered them, but
haven't yet had time to respond."

Then give them another rundown on your offer. Bring in a
fresh angle so it doesn't seem like they are reading the same
letter they saw a few days ago.

More than three sales letters tend to get ignored. If you
want to send more, have your fourth and fifth letters arrive
weeks or months later. Scheduling a new letter to arrive
every month can catch a prospect when they're ready to
buy.

Q: Kevin,

I am a consultant with Mary Kay (a new one at that). As you
probably know there are lots of us, so lots of competition for
customers. Mary Kay does not allow us to have a website except
for the one they supply (for a yearly $35 fee). So what can I do
to make myself stand out from all the other consultants, and get
more customers? I have a banner ad being made for my car (an all
over vinyl ad) and some signs to put on the curb leading to my

Your marketing ideas sound good. Usually you can put up a web
page that talks about your products and opportunity in general
terms without mentioning the company name or the specific names
of the products. You can use this to get people to email or call
you...and give you a site to promote online.

Bulk mail doesn't work as well as it once did, even for genuine
opt-in. You would probably do better to put an ad in ezines with
