Why do some sites succeed where others flop? The answers are more
obvious than you think. There is never just one reason why a site
does not succeed. A combination of the right elements is what
determines your success.

So what are the right elements? Well, here are a few of them:

1. Speed - People are in a perpetual hurry, so don't make them
wait around for your site to load. The more technology advances,
the faster people expect your website to be. So remember to
compress your images and don't clutter up your site with
unnecessary elements. Minimize your load time by keeping graphics
small and don't overuse javascript, streaming audio/video, and
animation.

2. Targeting - Know your target market and be sure your site
caters to their needs. If your target market is teenagers, don't
design your site to look boring and corporate. If you're
targeting business professionals, use a clean, simple design and
keep it easy to navigate.

3. Payment Methods - Payment should be easy, no matter what
method your customers choose to use. Offer a variety of payment
methods. Also, you must accept credit cards. This is the cardinal

4. Content - This is by far the most critical element of a good
site. Good content sells products. Does your copy convey the
message you wish to send? Does it make people want to buy? If

How to Generate New Product Ideas

There are millions of products and opportunities out there that
are waiting for people to come along and make a business out of
them. But if you ask me, nothing beats coming up with your own
idea for a product, business, or service, and turning it into a
success.

But the first thing you have to do is come up with the idea. When
coming up with an idea, consider three things:

1. Are you going to enjoy being involved with it? Don’t choose to
execute an idea that you won’t enjoy being involved in every day.
If you don’t like your idea enough to put all your effort into
it, you will limit the amount of success you can achieve.

2. Are there people who will be willing to pay for it? Do your
market research before investing a single penny in your idea. The
most important factors that will determine whether you can make
any money with your idea is whether or not the product, service,
or opportunity is in-demand. Ask people in your target market,
not just if they like your product, but if they would be willing
to pay for it.

3. Is your product unique, or is it similar to many other
products that already exist? The more competition you have, the
harder it will be to sell your product. If your product is too
similar, find a new angle to market it, or focus on a niche
market.

But how should they end? Usually sales letters are structured so
that you say the most important things first. But there is one

Most people are leery of purchasing anything without a solid

makes the sale. And the more outrageous it is, the better. So
extend the time, make the circumstances all encompassing, let

How to Introduce a New Product or Service

Nothing boosts sales faster than effectively introducing a
great new product or service. If you do it right, the move can

1. Point your marketing to prospects who are sitting on the

Solve a Problem--But Not ALL Problems

Customers don't buy from you just because they like your
product or service. It goes deeper than that.

People come to you because they feel you, your product or
service can solve a problem they are struggling with. The
fastest way to get a sale is to convincingly show you can
solve their problem.

This is one reason why so many successful firms insist
employees focus on the customer rather than the product or
service they are selling. It helps everyone in the organization
understand they are in the problem solving business.

But be careful, you don't want to promise you can fix all
problems. You can't be all things to all people. Even though
it is tempting for both you and the customer to think one
solution can fix everything, that is rarely the case. Promise
too much and the customer will eventually go away
disappointed.

Instead, focus on a particular problem or three that you can
very effectively solve. Market toward the narrow (and
lucrative) group of customers who who need those specific
solutions NOW.

Give Them a Benefit in Every Sentence

People react fastest when they see something good is in it for
THEM. People want the good stuff now!

Of course, in marketing, we call the good stuff "benefits."
Tell the customer the benefits your product or service will give
them. Even better, tell prospects the benefits they will get
NOW--IF they buy immediately.

As you write your ad copy, sell on the telephone, or promote in
a meeting, think about how you can pack a "get it now" benefit
into every sentence.

For example, "order the front door peephole NOW and I'll
immediately get the process started to deliver and install your
peephole. You'll be that much closer to having the safety,
security, and confidence you want for you and your family."

When copy starts to talk about you, your company, your product
or service INSTEAD of listing benefits the customer gets, the
customer starts to lose interest.

Don't Send Email Regularly

The beauty of email is you can send it as much as you like
without having to pay more. That tends to make us want to send
as often as we can: once a week, once a day, or even more.

The problem with sending email regularly is you may be sending
when you have little to say, just to keep your email effort on
schedule.

Instead, try this. Only send an email when you have something
interesting, exciting, helpful, funny, or sad to say.

You might have something good to say every day some weeks, and
not at all other weeks. The point is people KNOW you have
something of interest for them ANYTIME they see your email
arrive.

I discovered how powerful this could be several years ago when I
